Crisis Intervention Services

If it's a mental health issue, we are here to help! Anyone in crisis is eligible for crisis evaluation. We will provide direct intervention services and/or useful referrals.

  • Crisis line, a self-help resource to talk through problems, get information, referrals and for suicide prevention at 452-4500
  • Access to mental health professionals and assessments for hospitalization 24 hours/day at 457-0431
  • Response to immediate issues with problem-solving techniques
  • Evaluation for services and/or hospitalization
  • Involuntary treatment services (mental health and chemical dependency)
  • Suicide intervention and treatment

Children & Family Services

Children and families are supported in the community with evidence-based practices and creative partnering with community organizations. Staff work to build quality relationships for children in the family, school and community.

Family consultation:

  • Family crisis intervention
  • Community support services for children and adolescents
  • Professional counseling and therapy for children and families
  • Assessment, education and referral resources for families regarding child/adolescent issues

Adult & Community Support Services

A wide range of caring services is available to meet the needs of persons with serious mental illness or with brain disorders. Staff with a variety of specialties offer evaluations, therapy and prevention strategies to support individuals in the community at critical stage sof life.

Counseling Services:

  • Outpatient psychotherapy (professional counseling) for individuals and caregivers
  • Older adult services in the home, hospital or nursing center
  • Posttraumatic stress disorder program for armed services combat veterans and families

Community Support Services:

  • Intensive stabilization and treatment to prevent hospitalization
  • Medication management
  • Day programs to support recovery and integration into community living
  • Clinical case management, advocacy and vocational services

Co-Occuring Disorders Treatment:

  • Evaluation and outpatient treatment for individuals dually diagnosed with mental disorders and chemical dependency

Veteran Services:

  • Counseling for combat veterans
  • Information and referral to Veteran's Administration

Senior Peer Counseling:

  • For Adults age 55 and up
  • Available free of charge
  • Confidential
  • In your home

As we age, life circumstances change and transitions can be upsetting.  Challenges such as loss of a life-long companion, retirement, relocation, health problems, loneliness or care giving can be stressful.  Sometimes it can help to talk with someone near your age who can help you address these concerns in a safe, supportive relationship. 

Volunteer Senior Peer Counselors are ready to visit in your home or a place of your choice to lend an ear and help you develop insight and coping skills to feel and function better.

Residential

The quality of life for mentally ill citizens and caregivers is enhanced through residential options that integrate recovery with practical independent living skills.

  • Second Street House is a licensed facility with 24-hour staff providing psychiatric rehabilitation and respite care during critical periods of recovery
  • Adult transition homes and apartments with supported living arrangements when less than a supervised environment is required

Consultation & Education

Community education works to combat the cultural stigma that has become attached to the condition of mental illness. By removing the stigma as a barrier to service within the home, school and workplace, citizens can access treatment, prevent disruption in their relationships, and enhace the quality of their lives.
